How long has he been at this job?Carlton joined TIAA-CREFF as a senior securities analyst in 1980; has been the lead portfolio manager on the Growth and Income Fund since its inception in 1997; and has been in the securities industry since 1972.
How has the fund performed?Year-to-date through Jan. 17, the fund was up 0.03 percent. At year-end 2000, its total return was down 7.3 percent and in 1999, was up 24.46.
Anything interesting about him?Sure. When he was younger, Carlton used to drag race and today he remains a high performance car enthusiast. Athletically he says, "As I've aged I've moved from tennis to golf to jogging. I still do golf and jogging. And, now I'm doing more golf than jogging."
