| Who is this guy? | Bruce Bent -
The Reserve Funds | | How do ya say his name? | Just as you might think, "bent". | |
| What's he manage? | Bruce is president of The Reserve Funds and as such has a hand in managing all of their 27 various money market funds. | | How long has he been doing that? | Twenty-five years ago, Bruce invented the money market mutual fund. He deserves a big round of applause for that one as money market mutual funds typically are a core holding for most fund shareholders. | | How's the fund performed? | Yields on money market funds are all over the board and depend upon what the fund invests its assets into, and, whether it is a taxable or tax-free fund. Currently, yields on taxable Reserve Fund money market mutual funds are around 5.4%. | | Anything interesting about him? | Of course. As well as having a great sense of humor, Bruce spent seven years at the New York Botanical Gardens and as a result is a landscape designer. Plus, he has a burgundy, chrome fendered Yamaha motorcycle that he says, "goes like hell". | | When was the interview conducted? | April 6, 2000 |
